Sexual Abuse, Poverty, Addiction, and Violence: A Survivor’s Journey
This memoir depicts the life of Becky Nulle navigating her life during the early seventies as a biracial child. She lived her life through neglect, prejudice and sexual abuse from many people including a powerful Chicago school principal, Dr. James Moffat. Feeling unloved from parents, grandparents and neighbors, Becky started on a path of self-destruction. She developed severe anger, alcoholism and anxiety. Through her eyes, she details her memories with a sense of humor and a sense of sadness. You will be able to see how Becky was able to overcome these obstacles and work on healing through brainspotting. She is proud of her journey now and shares with you what it took to become a woman she can be proud of. Her willingness to forgive her parents and develop a relationship with her mother will make you laugh and cry. Becky learned to forgive everyone finally, including herself. Healing through brainspotting was how she did it and she tells the audience how it worked for her. Perhaps it can work for you.
